• Salicylic Acid helps in the treatment and prevention of acne.

✔️ Indication:

Kerasol FCL is a topical preparation with different concentrations for various skin conditions. The 2% formulation is indicated for mild to moderate acne, blackheads, whiteheads, redness & swelling of the face, pimples, and to prevent future acne breakouts.

✔️ Pharmacology

Salicylic Acid has a potent keratolytic action and a slight antiseptic action. In low concentrations, it has keratolytic activity, and in higher concentrations, it has keratolytic activity. Salicylic Acid softens and destroys the stratum corneum by increasing endogenous hydration, causing the cornified epithelium to swell, soften, and then desquamate. It also has weak antifungal and antibacterial activity.

✔️ Dosage & Administration of Kerasol FCL Lotion 2%

Adult Dose: Topical/Cutaneous Acne:

• Apply thinly to the affected area 1-3 times daily, reduce to once daily or every other day if dryness or peeling occurs. Hyperkeratotic and scaling skin conditions:
• Apply to the affected area of the skin and/or scalp 3-4 times daily.

Increased risk of skin dryness and irritation with other topical acne preparations.

✔️ Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity
• Use on moles, birthmarks, and unusual warts with growing hair or warts on the face.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy Category C. If used by nursing mothers, avoid application on the chest area to prevent accidental contamination of the child.

• For external use only.
• Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes.
• Not for prolonged use in high concentrations and on large areas of the body.
• Caution in individuals with impaired peripheral circulation or diabetes.
